All apartments have a parking space.
There is a mini bus service, with scheduled visits to local shops amenities and excursions etc.
There is a team of full time Estate Porter staff on-site on a 24/7 basis. Wallis Court and Weycombe House are only accessible by secure entry pad system.
Pets are allowed with permission of the Estate Manager, as long as they are well trained and kept under control at all times. Pets are not allowed in the Village Club unless they are a support or assistance dog.
Yes, subject to availability. There will be a nominal charge for this.
There is a communal aerial and Sky satellite dish available to all apartments. However you will need to arrange and pay for a Sky box in order receive to all channels.
All apartments have fitted carpets and appropriate floor coverings to the kitchen and bathroom areas, leaving you the opportunity to bring your own furnishings and belongings. A full interior furnishings package may be available subject to your requirements.
All apartments do have a 24 hour response service to give you additional peace of mind; however it may be necessary for additional care to be provided if you are taken ill or have an accident. Don’t worry, your tenancy will continue whilst you are in hospital or need a short time in a nursing home, as long as the rent continues to be paid.
A full cleaning and laundry facility can be provided dependant on your requirements for which a cost will apply. There is a laundry room in Weycombe House for residents use. In Wallis Court, plumbing for a washing machine is available in every apartment.
Not at present but a periodic ‘clinic’ is being considered for the future. We do however provide a prescription pick up service.
Not at present but we can arrange for delivery of newspapers, bread and milk.
You can arrange to have this facility within your own apartment, which will be provided by your chosen landline internet supplier and at an appropriate charge. It is planned for the Village Club to provide an internet terminal in the near future. At present, Wi-Fi is available in the Club House.
A handy man is available, Monday to Friday, during usual business hours. A cost may be applicable. He is also available for a period of up to three days when you move in on a free of charge basis
We may be able to arrange for you to stay for a few days or a week, depending on your wishes. You can then benefit fully from the lifestyle, and participate in all that is going on as a resident, before you commit yourself to a tenancy. Subject to availability.
You and your guests can make full use of all the facilities, including:
  • The Wispers Club is situated in Oak Hall and includes a beautiful lounge opening out on to the south facing terrace, originally the drawing room, where you can have coffee or tea with friends, read a magazine or just enjoy the peace of the room and views over the beautiful grounds.
  • The library has many books and periodicals that are there for residents to freely use. Many residents contribute books to the library shelves for others to read.
  • A fully equipped gym, with personal trainer if you wish is available, subject to a fee. Within the gym area are arranged keep fit classes, yoga and Pilates. There is an additional cost per class.
  • Hairdressing and beauty service available to all residents in their apartments at an additional cost.
  • The Wispers Club mini bus is available for daily shopping trips and days out further afield.
  • A wide range of activities and events is planned by the Estate Manager as well as the clubs that residents set up, such as the Bridge Club.
  • Wispers Park boasts extensive grounds where residents can walk, sit and enjoy the open air, or enjoy croquet on the front lawn, as well as carpet bowls, weather permitting.
Although the Bistro is open to the public, all residents, family and friends can make full use of the Bistro at a special rate. As a tenant of Girlings you and your family and friends (up to a maximum of 6 diners) are entitled to a 30% reduction off the à la carte menu. The 30% reduction is not applicable to the table d' hote menu. There is also a fully equipped bar.
Breakfast is served from 9.00am to 10.30am; Lunch from 12.00 noon to 3.00pm and Dinner from 5.00pm to 8.30pm.
Your guests are very welcome to join you in the Bistro. When they dine in the Bistro as your guest (up to a maximum of 6 diners), they are also entitled to a 30% reduction off the à la carte menu. The 30% reduction is not applicable to the table d' hote menu. You must also be dining for the reduction to apply.
Yes, you just order off the menu and they will be delivered to your apartment with a small additional tray charge, very much like the service of a good quality hotel.
