Frequently Asked Questions at The Manor House, Lincombe Manor

All apartments are allocated a reserved parking space.
There is a mini bus service, with scheduled visits to local shops amenities and excursions etc.
There is a team of full time Estate Porter staff on-site on a 24/7 basis. The Manor House and Thatcher View is only accessible by secure entry pad system.
Pets are allowed with permission of the landlord, as long as they are well trained and kept under control at all times. Dogs are not allowed in the Manor House with the exception of apartment number 3. Pets are not allowed in the Village Club unless they are a support or assistance dog.
Yes, subject to availability. There will be a nominal charge for this.
There is a communal aerial and Sky satellite dish available to all apartments. However you will need to arrange and pay for a Sky box in order receive to all channels.
All apartments have fitted carpets and appropriate floor coverings to the kitchen and bathroom areas, leaving you the opportunity to bring your own furnishings and belongings. A full interior furnishings package may be available subject to your requirements.
All apartments do have a 24 hour porter service to give you additional peace of mind; however it may be necessary for additional care to be provided if you are taken ill or have an accident. Don’t worry, your tenancy will continue whilst you are in hospital or need a short time in a nursing home, as long as the rent continues to be paid. If you find that you need permanent additional care, Lincombe Manor has its own Care Centre and part time nursing or domestic care is being considered for the future. You are, of course, able to arrange for an external care service if you prefer.
A full cleaning and laundry facility can be provided dependant on your requirements for which a cost will apply. There is of course a washer-drier for your exclusive use in your apartment.
Not at present but one is being considered for the future. We do however provide a prescription pick up service.
Not at present but we can arrange for delivery of newspapers.
You can arrange to have this facility within your own apartment, which will be provided by your chosen landline internet supplier and at an appropriate charge. It is planned for the Village Club to provide an internet terminal in the near future. At present, Wi-Fi is available in the Club House.
A handy man is available, Monday to Friday, during usual business hours. A cost may be applicable. He is also available for a period of up to three days when you move in on a free of charge basis.
We may be able to arrange for you to stay for a few days or a week, depending on your wishes. You can then benefit fully from the lifestyle, and participate in all that is going on as a resident, before you commit yourself to a tenancy. Subject to availability.
You and your guests can make full use of all the facilities, including:
  • The Manor Club is situated in the Manor House and includes a beautiful lounge opening out on to the south facing terrace, originally the drawing room, where you can have coffee or tea with friends, read a magazine or just enjoy the peace of the room and the superb views.
  • The library has many books and periodicals that are there for residents to freely use. Many residents contribute books to the library shelves for others to read.
  • A fully equipped gym is available.
  • The Manor Club mini bus is available for daily shopping trips and days out further afield.
  • A wide range of activities and events is planned by the Estate Manager as well as the clubs that residents set up, such as the Bridge Club. There is also a games room that can be used for a wide range of board games.
  • Lincombe Manor boasts extensive grounds where residents can walk, sit and enjoy the open air, take in the magnificent views over Tor Bay, and enjoy croquet on the front lawn.
Although the dining room is open to the public, all residents, family and friends can make full use of the dining room at a special rate. As a tenant of Girlings you are entitled to a 10% reduction off the à la carte menu. The 10% reduction is not applicable to the table d' hote menu. There is also the private dining room, a Bistro for large events, and a fully equipped bar. Lunch is served from 12.00 noon to 3.00pm.
Your guests are very welcome to join you in the restaurant.
The private dining room is available for you to make full use of. If you wish to invite a group of friends, or family then you can book the private dining room at no cost. Our chefs can even create a bespoke menu for your event, which will incur a charge per head.
